A backpack, compass and a camera...that's how I pack for a trip.
I believe in watching sunrise form the edge of a mountain, the touch of a loved one, long kisses, and family trips.
The path we take through life is not only up to us but defines who we are.
SCROLL DOWN
I wasn't always a DC wedding photographer. I started my career as a commercial photographer. After many years, I became the chief photographer for Underwriters Laboratories. While working with them, my favorite project took me to 7 different countries, on 4 continents, covering 33,000 miles in just 19 days.
Then in 2009, I found my true calling, you guest it, I photographed my first wedding. I have now had the privilege to photograph over 250 weddings.
Why I Do It
It’s not only the wedding day, but all the meetings, the engagement session, the photo reveal after the wedding and then the presenting of the wedding album. It’s all these moments and more. It’s you and your family’s stories, the ones that make you laugh and cry. But the thing that makes me the happiest, is thinking of you 5, 10, 20, 40 years from now. Sitting on a couch showing your wedding album to your parents, kids, grandkids and grandparents, reliving all those precious moments through my photography….that’s why I do it.
My process of getting to know you begins with becoming friends – only when the trust has built up can we get those truly emotional, moving images that will make you and your family smile for generations to come.
From our first meeting to your wedding day. I will be helping the two of you plan your perfect timeline to match your photography needs. By the time your wedding day rolls around we will be good friends and you will both feel comfortable around me and the camera.
That being said, I like to stand back and let you interact with each other to capture that true raw emotion when you think no one is watching, that’s when I snap the oh-so-perfect image. I will guide you if needed, otherwise, if you’re comfortable, I shoot in a photojournalistic style, mixing in highly-stylized imagery and a whole lot of fun to document the unique story of your wedding day.
BLANTON'S to be exact. One BIG square ice cube or Neat. It balances out my morning coffee(not at the same time).
I love it when I get my passport stamped. I'm always on the lookout for my next adventure and to learn more about this beautiful world we live in.
I love animals. Although I grew up with dogs I now have a cat named ARCHIE. I'm still not sure who is in charge but he is always there to help.
My boots feel like slippers. Slippers covered in mud with frayed laces and a lot of miles on them but when I put them on I know fun is on the way.
From the sound and smell of the coffee brewing, to holding a hot cup, there is nothing better. Then comes my Zen moment of that first sip.
